Your Details

Everything recalculates live. Inputs are saved on this device only.

Standard deduction is applied automatically: ₹75,000 in the new regime, ₹50,000 in the old regime.

Enter the full gain — the ₹1,25,000 exemption is applied automatically.

Short-term gains on non-equity assets (debt funds, property < 2 yrs) are taxed at slab rates — add those to Other income above. Enter net gains only; loss set-off isn't modelled.

Enter the rupee gain from your exchange's tax report — not coin units. Sale value in ₹ minus purchase cost in ₹, summed across profitable trades; crypto-to-crypto swaps count as taxable transfers too. No loss set-off between assets, no exemptions, no rebate. The 1% TDS u/s 194S your exchange deducted goes into the TDS field below (check Form 26AS).

More than one let-out property? Add all rents together here, and likewise total the municipal taxes and loan interest of all let-out properties in their columns below.

Deductible only if actually paid by you (the owner) during FY 2025-26. A 30% standard deduction u/s 24(a) is then applied automatically on the balance.

Fully deductible against rent in both regimes. But if it creates a loss: old regime sets off up to ₹2L against other income (rest carried forward); new regime allows no set-off against salary/other income.

Enter the exempt portion (least of: actual HRA, rent − 10% of basic, 50%/40% of basic).

From the "interest" column of your lender's certificate. Up to two self-occupied homes qualify — add both interests together (combined cap ₹2L). If the property is let out, enter its interest in the let-out section above instead — it has no cap there.

The "principal" column of the certificate. Added to your 80C bucket above; the ₹1.5L cap applies to both together. Stamp duty/registration paid this year also qualifies.

What to enter — section-by-section guide
  • Gross salary: total from your Form 16 / payslips before any deduction — basic + DA + HRA + allowances + perquisites. Don't subtract anything yourself; the app applies the standard deduction.
  • Other income: savings/FD interest, dividends, family pension. Get accurate figures from your AIS on the e-filing portal.
  • 80CCD(2) — employer NPS: only the employer's contribution to your NPS. Limit: 14% of basic+DA in the new regime; 10% for private-sector employees in the old regime (14% for government).
  • HRA exemption: the least of — actual HRA received; rent paid minus 10% of basic+DA; 50% of basic (metro) or 40% (non-metro). Needs rent receipts, and the landlord's PAN if rent exceeds ₹1L/year.
  • 80C (₹1.5L cap): EPF/VPF, PPF, ELSS mutual funds, life insurance premium, NSC, Sukanya Samriddhi, 5-year tax-saver FD, tuition fees for up to 2 children. Home loan principal and stamp duty go in the dedicated field — the app enforces the combined cap.
  • 80CCD(1B): your own NPS Tier-I contribution — an extra ₹50,000 over and above 80C.
  • 80D: health insurance premiums — up to ₹25,000 for self/family (₹50,000 if you're 60+), plus a separate ₹25,000/₹50,000 for parents' policies, plus ₹5,000 preventive health checkup within these limits. Enter your total eligible amount; the app doesn't split sub-limits.
  • Home loan interest: take both figures straight from your lender's annual interest certificate — interest to the 24(b) field (self-occupied, capped ₹2L) or the let-out field (uncapped), principal to its own field.
  • Let-out property: actual rent received; municipal taxes only if you paid them this year; the 30% deduction is automatic — don't reduce anything yourself.
  • Other deductions: 80G donations (50%/100% as per receipt), 80E education loan interest (no cap), 80TTA savings interest ₹10k (80TTB ₹50k for seniors), 80EEA if your loan qualifies.
  • Capital gains: STCG on listed equity/equity MF (sold within 1 year) at 20% u/s 111A; LTCG (held over 1 year) at 12.5% u/s 112A with the ₹1.25L exemption applied automatically; other LTCG (property/gold/unlisted, with eligible holding period) at 12.5%. Enter net gains from your broker's capital gains statement. Non-equity short-term gains go into Other income (slab rates).
  • Crypto / VDA: the rupee gain from your exchange's tax report — never coin units. INR sale value minus INR purchase cost, summed across profitable trades; crypto-to-crypto swaps are taxable transfers at that day's fair value. Flat 30% u/s 115BBH: losses between assets can't be set off, and no exemption or rebate applies. Your exchange's 1% TDS (194S) belongs in the TDS field.
  • TDS/TCS: the total from Form 26AS — salary TDS, bank TDS, tenant's 194-IB TDS, everything.

Advance tax & interest rules
  • Who: anyone whose net tax liability (after TDS) is ₹10,000+ in the year. Resident senior citizens with no business/professional income are exempt (Sec 207).
  • When: 15% by 15 Jun · 45% by 15 Sep · 75% by 15 Dec · 100% by 15 Mar (cumulative).
  • 234C: 1% per month for 3 months on each deferred installment (1 month for the March one). No interest on the first two if you'd paid at least 12% / 36% respectively.
  • 234B: if total advance tax paid is under 90% of the liability — 1% per month (or part) on the shortfall from 1 April 2026 until you pay.
  • 234A (not computed here): a further 1% per month applies only if you also file the return after the due date with tax unpaid.
  • Let-out property rent counts toward advance tax liability — TDS u/s 194-IB (if your tenant deducts it) counts as tax already paid.
Switching rules you should know
  • The new regime is the default. To use the old regime, you must actively opt out.
  • Salaried / no business income: choose the regime every year directly in ITR-1 or ITR-2 — no separate form needed. File before the Section 139(1) due date.
  • Business or professional income: opting out requires Form 10-IEA before the due date, and you get only one lifetime switch back to the new regime.
  • Tell your employer your intended regime for correct TDS — but that intimation alone doesn't count as opting out; the choice is exercised in the ITR itself.

Valid only for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) for resident individuals. Capital gains are modelled at headline rates (111A 20%, 112A 12.5% above ₹1.25L, other LTCG 12.5%) without loss set-off/carry-forward, grandfathering, indexation options or Sec 54-series reinvestment exemptions; the 87A rebate is applied against slab tax only and surcharge marginal relief is approximated when gains are present. Excludes lottery income, 80D sub-limits, relief u/s 89 and business provisions. Always verify with the Income Tax Department's official calculator or a qualified tax professional before filing or making payments.
